6. hide that ugly AC unit
After 5 years of hatin' on that monster, the old and ugly AC unit gets hidden with some slatty goodness!! As you can see my attempt at hiding it with a potted foxtail fern didn't really fool anyone. The wood slats are threaded with a steel rod at the corners creating a hinge - allowing it to fold up when we have to store it in the winter. The ends of the steel rods also act as stakes going into the ground a few inches - this keeps it in place around the AC unit. This project was Mark's concept...I just did the nagging...and the constant pointing out of good wood slatty-ness. Thank you Mark!

8. DIY AC Unit Cover Indoor
Is there ever an aspect of a room that you think “how am I going to work around this??”, well for me, it was the lovely in wall air conditioner unit that came with the house. Don’t get me wrong, it’s my best friend when it’s 90 degrees outside but it didn’t seem to make any sense the rest of the year, and it’s pretty much the first thing you see when you walk into the bedroom.

9.DIY OUTDOOR AIR CONDITIONER SCREEN WITH LATTICE
We’re going to be adding some windows to the side of the house where our AC condenser is, so we wanted to build a temporary screen that we could eventually move when our window project starts. Many of the air conditioner screens we’ve seen in the past are permanent structures, built with post holes/concrete, etc. And while those structures are very sturdy, if you’re a renter, or you don’t want to delve into a super labor intensive building project, this one may be right up your alley. It’s movable, and you can put it together in no time.FOR HOW TO DIY OUTDOOR AIR CONDITIONER SCREEN WITH LATTICE Clik Here...
10. $50 AC Unit Hack
With a little research we realized we would need certain spacing in order to not suffocate the unit and leave room for breath ability. We surmised that we needed 54 inches total of an air gap.
